In this situation the mold growth was discovered upon opening the wall cavity.  Absorbent or porous materials, such as drywall, ceiling tiles and carpet may have to be removed and thrown away if they become moldy. Mold can grow on or fill in the empty spaces and crevices of porous materials as in this situation. Wearing personal protective equipment our team safely removed affected drywall and decontaminated the space properly while checking to make sure moisture levels had returned to normal.
